The cows

Our cows roam freely on acres of land for most of the year rather than spending their lives in confinement. They spend their days “doing cow things” and as our farmers point out, the cows get excited to go out in the fresh air! They have access to plenty of clean water and walk miles each day, which promotes healthy legs and hooves. When they come home each night they are well-exercised and ready for the last milking of the day.

The land

Pasture-grazed animals help the land grow stronger and healthier by naturally supporting the cycle of growth. As the cows roam over acres of land, they eat the plants and grasses that grow there and deposit manure, an essential source of nutrients for the soil, reducing the need for farmers to manually fertilize the land. The more nutrients in the soil and plant life, the healthier the cows, which leads to better quantity and quality of milk produced.

We respect the environment and make great efforts to be good stewards of the land and animals in our care. As part of our commitment under the Sweet Meadows Farms pasture-grazing protocol, we commit to manage all our natural resources – including plants, soil and water – in a sustainable fashion.

The milk

Sweet Meadows Farms started with a simple idea: deliver milk to your table that tastes just like it does on the farm —  fresh, sweet and pure. Our farmers know how to do that: we let our cows spend as much time as possible in the pasture. You can practically taste the open air and sunshine in every carton!

Sweet Meadows Farms milk is rBST-free*. Our farmers pledge not to use artificial growth hormones on the cows, ever.

*No significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBST treated and non-rBST treated cows.
